RESEARCH PARTICIPATION
Take part in a study.
We run recording sessions with adult volunteers to test our instrument. Sessions are non-invasive, take about ninety minutes, and are paid. This page explains what happens so you can decide whether you'd like to be considered.
What a session involves
A researcher walks you through the consent form and answers any questions. Nothing starts until you've signed and you're comfortable.
We fit a headset. It rests on the scalp the way a pair of headphones does. We spend a few minutes adjusting it so the readings are clean.
You sit at a screen and do short, simple tasks — pressing a button when a shape appears, watching patterns, that kind of thing — in blocks of a few minutes with breaks between.
We take the headset off, ask how it felt, and pay you. There is no follow-up unless you've asked to be invited back.
What it is not
Nothing is implanted, injected or taken. The headset shines a very low level of infrared light onto the scalp and measures what comes back — more light reaches your head from a sunny afternoon than from our instrument. You will not feel anything from it.
It is not a medical test and it does not diagnose anything. We're measuring how well the instrument works, not anything about you. You can stop at any point, for any reason, and you will still be paid for the time you've given.
SCREENING
Ask to be considered.
This form tells us how to reach you. It does not enroll you in anything. A researcher will contact you to go through a short screening conversation, and you can say no at any point.
